50th Birthday Concert
Members of Maesteg Male Voice Choir made a visit to Cwmfelin Primary School in Maesteg to join in with their Eisteddfod to celebrate St. David’s Day.
The choir sang in front of all the pupils who were dressed in their Welsh costumes. It was quite a moment when we all stood and belted out the Welsh National Anthem.
Every chorister enjoyed the visit and were delighted to be invited to share a platform with the wonderful chioldren of the school. Parents, you should be so proud of them all.
Thank you to the brilliant teachers too, and well done to Ty Melyn - who one the Eisteddfod by a single point.

Rugby Song Night
On Thursday January 25th, Maesteg Male Voice Choir hosted a Rugby Songs night, in readiness to cheer on Wales in the Six Nations Championships next month.
It was a great evening and we welcomed many prospective new choristers to the choir.
We learned Hymns and Arias, Bread of Heaven, Calon Lan and We’ll Keep a Welcome from Wales and Flower of Scotland and Fields of Athenry from Ireland. There was not any songs sung involving chariots! Vice Chairman John Evans commented that “the evening could not have gone any better, and we all enjoyed having a pint together at the end”.
Musical Director Huw Morgan said “the future is looking bright for the choir, and tonight showed that the men of Maesteg really know how to sing, and enjoy themselves”.
