Need A Nudge?
There are numerous reasons why becoming a part of our choir can be a rewarding experience for you, as well as possibly a few of factors that may give you pause for thought. You may want to consider this:
You don’t have to read music.
There are no auditions.
You don’t have to buy any music, we supply it all.
We are in Maesteg Celtic Club and ‘on the flat!’ if you are not so steady on your feet.
When we harmonise, we create something of beauty — especially when we’ve all struggled to get our part right — there is a mixture of awe and satisfaction that can’t be put into words.
If you think that it is too expensive, you are wrong. Being a member of our choir works out at about a pint of beer a week - and it is much better for you too!
However, if you do not like chatting, socialising, friendship or raising money for good causes, please do not join.
If you don’t like social events and being active, please do not join.
If you like being miserable, being lonely or watching EastEnders on the television, PLEASE DO NOT JOIN US. It really isn’t for you.

Regular group singing strengthens your ear, allowing you to understand how harmonies combine and complement each other.
Choral singing has profound emotional benefits. Research shows that it enhances brain function, fosters feelings of togetherness, and releases endorphins and oxytocin.
Many people are told they can’t sing, which can discourage potential singers for years. THIS IS JUST NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!!
We provide a safe space to perform as part of a group. Witness your confidence grow as you perform in front of an audience for the first time.
In our increasingly isolated world, choir membership offers a sense of community.
Forge strong social bonds with like-minded people working toward a common goal.
Singing has connected communities since ancient times, and being part of a choir provides a meaningful sense of belonging.

Choir rehearsals involve standing, breathing, and vocalizing, contributing to overall fitness.
